POSITION: Vice
President for Institutional Development
(President's Office)
Duties:
This newly created position reports to the President and will take the
leadership role in creating, organizing and running an institutional
advancement program that will promote the college’s mission and
accomplishments and build strong support for its unique academic agenda and
initiatives. The Vice President, as chief development and external relations
officer, will establish objectives and formulate strategies in the areas of
public relations, marketing, intergovernmental affairs, fundraising, planned
giving, foundation and corporate sponsorships and grants development. The
Vice President will have supervisory responsibility over the following
offices: grants, alumni affairs, arts and culture, intergovernmental
affairs, public relations and marketing, and the conference center.
Qualifications:
The position requires a master’s degree with an advanced degree in
development or a related field. At least five years of executive-experience,
preferably in higher education, is also required. The ideal candidate will
have a strong understanding of and commitment to success in college
advancement, a strong record of achievement as a fundraiser, and the
following senior-level qualifications:

Leadership role in
managing fundraising and capital improvement campaigns, including major gift
solicitation, planned giving, events planning, and targeted drives for
corporate and foundation donations.

Acumen for building
a strong and highly functioning network of supporters among the college’s
external publics such as community opinion and business leaders,
governmental and non-governmental organization officials, trendsetters in
academia, as well as successful role models in the professional, cultural
and athletic fields of endeavor.

Ability to
communicate with and harness energies from a wide base and disparate groups
of people, from board members, faculty, staff, public officials, business
executives to volunteers representing varied ethnic, cultural, social and
economic backgrounds.

Possession of a
professional portfolio that documents career successes in building and
leading results-oriented operations and programs.
Salary:
This is an Executive Compensation Plan (ECP) position. Salary and
benefits are competitive.
