The City University of New York in compliance with Sections 503 and 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act
of 1973, The Americans With Disability Act of 1990, New York State Legislation {Executive Law 296} and the
New York City Human Rights Law does not deny qualified individuals with disabilities, solely by reason of
their disability, exclusion from participation in programs, activities or employment.
Hostos Community College, as a unit of CUNY, does not discriminate against individuals with
disabilities in access to programs, and/or services nor in employment.
A student with a disability who wishes to receive an accommodation should apply for services
at the office of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSWD). Application and disability documentation forms
are available there for students requesting accommodations. Qualifying students will develop an accommodation
plan with the office. Prof. Michael Stimola, Director of Services for Students with Disabilities and Ms. Aida
Gonzalez, Disability Specialist, are located in The Office of Student Services, Savoy Building, room D101P.
They may be reached by telephone/TDD at 718-518-4454 or by email at: mstimola@hostos.cuny.edu or agonzalez@hostos.cuny.edu.
Initial student complaints regarding college non-compliance with any of the above cited regulations
should be first brought to the attention of the office of Services for Students with Disabilities. If the complaint
cannot be resolved with the assistance of the office, the student should then direct it to the Compliance Coordinator
for 504 and ADA, Dr. Linda Anderson. Her office is located in A 318. She may be reached by telephone at 718-518-4284 or
by email at landerson@hostos.cuny.edu. Students always have the right to seek external assistance in resolving a complaint.
Information about these resources is available at both offices.
Employees seeking accommodations based on disability should seek
guidance from the office of Human Resources. Non-compliance
complaints by employees should be directed to Dr. Linda Anderson,
the Compliance Coordinator for 504 and ADA.
