College Preparatory Curriculum (CPI)

The City University of New York and the New York City Department of Education encourage all high school students to take specific courses--a college preparatory curriculum--that will prepare them for success in the workforce. The college preparatory curriculum for four years of high school is as follows:

• Four (4) years of English

• Three (3) years of academic math

• Four (4) year of social studies

• Two (2) years of a foreign language

• Two (2) years of laboratory science

• One (1) year of visual or performing arts
