Hispanic Heretage Quiz 2010
The Hispanic Heritage Quiz Show will re-air with new footage on October 1st on NBC beginning at 3 PM.
   
Madelin Nay Gutierrez Madelin Nay Gutierrez (Captain) - Madelin is a former Global Scholar and a Hostos Student Ambassador. She was selected from among 120 students to serve as the Captain of the Quiz Show Team assembled to attend and participate in the Nationally Televised Hispanic Heritage Quiz Show. Madelin is of Dominican Descent and is currently studying Political Science at Columbia University in the School of General Studies. She graduated from Hostos Community College in June of 2010.
   
Elvin Mendez Elvin Mendez - Elvin is a member of the Hostos Honors Institute and the Hostos Student Leadership Academy, where he is a Hostos Student Ambassador. Elvin is studying Liberal Arts and Sciences, but intends to study to become a Doctor. He has been accepted to study at Stony Brook University for spring 2011. He will be graduating from Hostos Community College in January 2011. Elvin is also the winner of the Bronx Dominican Day Parade Scholarship, which is awarded to students of Dominican decent who excel at volunteering in the community and for having a high grade point average.
   
Ashley Rodriguez Ashley Rodriguez - Ashley is a Liberal Arts and Science major and she plans to transfer to the City College of New York to study Psychology. She plans to work with children, in order to make their lives much more fulfilling. Ashley is of Puerto Rican descent and is the winner of the Puerto Rican Day Parade Scholarship from Banco Popular and a Diversity Scholarship from the GALOS Corporation. Ashley is a member of the Hostos Student Leadership Academy as a Hostos Student Ambassador and she will graduate from Hostos Community College in January of 2011. Ashley has also served as the Vice President for the Women’s Empowerment Organization and is a participant in the College Discovery Program.
   
Wanda Zorrilla Wanda Zorrilla - Wanda is studying Dental Hygiene at Hostos Community College and was part of the Honors Program in 2009-2010. She is a member of the Hostos Student Leadership Academy, where she serves as an Ambassador and a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. She intends on graduating from Hostos Community College in spring of 2011. She is also the winner of the Dominican Day Parade Scholarship for students who are committed to service the community and have a high grade point average.
   
Pedro Galdamez Pedro Galdamez (Alternate) - Pedro is studying Criminal Justice at Hostos Community College. He is a member of the Hostos Student Leadership Academy, where he serves as an Ambassador. Pedro is hoping that he will be able to change the world through Forensic Science and he is a devoted husband and father to his children. Pedro is also of Dominican descent.
