Hostos Athletic Leaders Organization (HALO)
2012-2013 Hostos Athletic Leaders Organization Application Form
The Hostos Athletic Leaders Organization (HALO) is designed to help student athletes become more effective leaders on the court/field and off, and, in general to provide the support they need to help them progress to the next level in whatever their pursuits may be.
 To be eligible for HALO, a student must be a member of one of Hostos’ four athletic teams — Men’s Soccer, Men’s or Women’s Basketball, or Women’s Volleyball. Throughout their time here, Hostos Athletic Leaders will have the full support of a team that will work with them to help them accomplish their goals. Hostos Athletic Leaders are also eligible to earn credits toward a scholarship, or they can just earn by learning how to make a difference in the community.
Hostos Athletic Leaders must perform 25 hours of community service per year, attend four (4) leadership-themed workshops and one (1) leadership-themed conference per year, and maintain at least a “B” in all of their courses. In addition, they must receive at least a 75% leadership rating from teammates and an 80% leadership rating from coaches and their athletic director.
