So I have been assigned a research paper. What now? Steps to preparing a good research paper. This workshop will cover: how to pick a research topic, how to use the library, what sources on the web are appropriate and which are not, what is a reference, when do you need one and how to put together a reference list of work cited page.

Oh no, the professor says we have a midterm. What do I do? Learn how to prepare for a midterm exam. A discussion of appropriate methods for preparing for a midterm and what questions students should ask professors before the midterm.  This workshop will also cover how to organize materials for study and how to integrate lecture notes and the textbook.  Finally the lecture will discuss how to learn more about what to expect on the exam.

I don’t think I am doing very well. Should I drop my course? A discussion of how to make a decision on dropping a class. Students will learn how to evaluate when to drop and when not to.  They will also look at the criteria for staying in class.

Oh help! I have four finals and I am not ready. Learn how to organize your time and prepare for final exams. This lecture will discuss when and how to prepare for a final.  This discussion will talk about the different types of finals and how to approach each type.
