Anamarķa Flores is a Ph.D. candidate in English. She has taught literature and writing at BMCC and Queens College and is currently working on her dissertation, "Recuperation, Reunion, Rememory: Racial Politics in the Literature of the Americas." She has published in Socialism and Democracy and was co-chair of a March 2006 conference at the GC on Afro-Latina/o and Afro-Latin American Identity in the New Millennium.
