Roderick is a PHD student in sociology.  His areas of specialization are mass media, cultural consumption, and race and ethnicity. His research/dissertation is analyzing the effects of space, time, and values on changes in musical selection. Roderick is also the lead researcher for the Media2Politic project, a web-based survey project that will analyze the connection between the interpretations of visual media and political values.
