  • Students Share Their Expertise at Hostos’ Second Annual Student Symposium

    Yesterday, April 18, Hostos Community College hosted its Second Annual Student Symposium, a highly anticipated event that showcased the significant academic achievements of its students. The Symposium featured the innovative work of 120 students across a variety of disciplines, including STEM, Allied Health, Game Design, Education, Literature, Humanities, and Behavioral and Social Sciences.

  • Hostos Students Volunteer to Beautify the Grand Concourse

    On a cold blustery morning on the Grand Concourse, a group of Hostos Community College students pulled on some work gloves and hauled dozens of bags of soil and fertilizer and carts full of flowering plants out to the sidewalk along the College’s A building to undertake a spring beautification project. Led by the Student Government Association (SGA), the 14 volunteers set about cleaning out the planters along the base of the building, mixing fresh soil with manure, and planting flowers and shrubs.

  • Bronx's Celebrated Chef Yala Visited Hostos, Offered Inspiring Advice and Cooked Delicious Dominican Staples

    On Wednesday, April 17, Carmen Báez, better known as Chef Yala, visited Hostos Community College to inspire the community and shed light on her life's journey. This visit was part of the "Nourishing Conversations" series, which highlights critical on-campus resources for students and addresses the pressing issue of food insecurity in the Bronx.
