The College Readiness Seminar

A General Education Diploma (GED) is the first step in preparing our students to enter college. After our students have attained their GED, we realize that they must have the academic skills needed to be successful in college once admitted and be oriented to the college admission process and beyond.

Students who have attained their General Education Diploma (GED) through the Adult Learning Center (ALC) are highly encouraged to enroll in ALC’s College Readiness Seminar.  The College Readiness Seminar gives students the academic skills needed to take and pass the CUNY Assessment test for Writing/Reading and Math.  We offer individual and group academic advisement workshops and seminars on various topics such as financial aid, career exploration, study skills, and key college services.
