Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is the academic process that allows students the opportunity to earn credits for college-level learning acquired outside the traditional classroom setting. Hostos follows policy guidelines from the City University of New York (CUNY) to evaluate students’ experiences (Credit for Prior Learning – The City University of New York). The methods used to assess this prior learning may include standardized exams, third-party credit evaluations, challenge exams, portfolios, and 7 credit articulation agreements with the Hostos Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD). Please contact Sam Byrd for more information about credit for prior learning at Hostos. Samuel K.
