  • When you see the spinning “pin-wheel” please wait for processing before advancing to another function – Not allowing this will delay your action even more and may risk you having to re-enter your data
Open/Close section If having issues claiming your account
  1. When I try to claim my account, the following error message appears:

    User not found.  Please enter correct data

    Make sure that these four identifiers are correct:
     
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Date of Birth
    • Last 4 of SS #

    If, after verifying that these are correct, the error message still appears, please contact one of the following:
     
    • The Help Desk – 718-518-6646
    • The Student Help Lab in C-595
       
  2. When I try to claim my account, the following error message appears:

    You must enter a value for Date of Birth

    Make sure that you follow the correct format when entering date of birth & make sure you use forward slashes (/)

    If your D.O.B. is June 16, 1987 – You should enter the following for D.O.B.: 06/16/1987

    If, after you've verified that these are correct, the error message still appears, please contact one of the following:

    • The Student Help Lab in C-595
Open/Close section If having issues once you're logged in
  1. If you see a banner for another CUNY College that is not Hostos Community College and you're only a student (meaning that you're not staff & student):
     

    If, after doing this, the banner is still not Hostos, please contact one of the following:

    • Go to the Student Self Service
    • Then click on Personal Information
    • Once on this page, you must change a part of your personal information – like add a phone number
    • Then log out of CUNYfirst and log back in to correct your personal info
    • The banner should be updated to Hostos Community College
       

    If, after doing this, the banner is still not Hostos, please contact one of the following:

  2. I forgot my password:
     
    • Go to the CUNYfirst Log In page
    • Click on Forgot your password?
    • You will need to provide your User ID or your Empl ID
       
  3. I want to change my password:
     
    • Go to the CUNYfirst Log In page
    • Click on Change Password
    • You will need to provide your User ID or
    • Empl ID & your current password
       
  4. I forgot the answers to my security questions:
     
    • Go to the CUNYfirst Log In page
    • Click on First time users
       

If it has been more than 120 days since you've logged into your CUNYfirst account:

  • Even if you remember your user name & password:
    • Go to the CUNYfirst Log In page
    • Click on First time users

  2. After I log in I'm Not able to see Student Center
    • Click on the Refresh Menu

  3. I'm Not able to view my transcript

    Make sure you have Adobe PDF Reader

    Then you can do one of two things:
     
    1. Disable pop-up-blocker
    2. Add the following to secure sites exactly as is: *.cuny.edu to your web browser’s Trusted Sites
