Hostos Student Symposium

The 4th annual Hostos Student Symposium is on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 9:00am-5:00pm. All faculty, students, and staff are welcome to attend.

About the Symposium

The Fourth Hostos Student Symposium, with the support of the Ms. MacKenzie Scott’s Gift: President’s Initiatives, will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
Our Symposium will be a celebration of student work in all disciplines across the college.

Presentation Mentors will:

  • Encourage students to apply

  • Work with them to prepare their abstract and help them to prepare to present
  • ​Submit the final presentation/poster to StudentSymposia@hostos.cuny.edu
  • Attend the Symposium

  • Be an honored guest at the Student Symposium Celebration Luncheon

*Please note there will be a brief meeting with faculty interested in serving as faculty mentors to review the expectations and answer any questions you may have about the symposium.*
 
Students Presenting will:

  • Work with the support of a faculty mentor to submit an abstract and prepare a presentation on their work this Academic Year

  • Present at the Symposium

  • Be an honored guest at the Student Symposium Celebration Luncheon; family members are welcomed!

  • Receive a stipend for presenting

Presentations welcome on notable assignments across the disciplines including but not limited to:

  • Undergraduate research in STEM

  • Essays/poems/short stories

  • Visual Arts

  • Performing Arts

  • Capstone Assignments
