Behavioral Sciences Unit
The Behavioral Sciences unit offers courses in the disciplines of anthropology, psychology, social work, and sociology. Behavioral sciences are critical elements of a liberal arts education and a study of these disciplines.
Courses are offered in a variety of modalities such as in-person, hybrid, asynchronous, Spanish, Writing Intensives (WIs), Experiential Learning Opportunities (ELOs), and as Honors. Please see the course designations in CUNYFirst for any specialized attributes and reach out to the unit coordinator or individual faculty for more information.
Our unit is comprised of diverse full and part-time faculty members who bring a wealth of education and experience to the classroom and work to fulfill Hostos' mission of "access to higher education leading to intellectual growth and socio-economic mobility through the development of linguistic, mathematical, technological, and critical thinking proficiencies needed for lifelong learning and for success in a variety of programs including careers, liberal arts, transfer, and those professional programs leading to licensure."
