Biography: Nancy Genova is a Lecturer of Public Administration. She is the Director of Public & Health Care Administration in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department and developed the Health Care Administration concentration. Professor Genova is the advisor to the Public Administrator Club.
Professor Genova is considered a social activist by her peers and has been acknowledged in a report issued by the NYS AIDS Advisory Council “Women In Peril HIV & AIDS The Rising Toll On Women of Color.” She has over twenty-five years of public administration experience as a healthcare administrator. She holds a master's in public administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Long Island University and a B.A. in Social Work and Fine Arts from Lehman College.
Professor Genova is past national President of the Board of 100 Hispanic Women National, Inc. and was appointed to the Human Rights Commission of Rockland County in April 2008. She is currently the President Emerita of the 100 Hispanic Women. The play she authored, “The Death of a Dream,” had its off-Broadway debut in October 2009 at Roy Arias Theater and continued on a college tour from 2010-2012. Professor Genova has also been the recipient of numerous awards; 2020 Power of Diversity: Latino City & State NY, Manager of the Year from National Association of Hispanic Healthcare Executives, 25 Most Influential Bronx Women, Leadership Award from the Latino Social Work Coalition, and Healthcare/ Medicine Award Latina 50+ to name a few.
