Office Technology Unit

The Office Technology Unit offers an A.A.S. degree in Office Technology with three options:
  • Administrative Assistant
  • Legal Administrative Assistant
  • Medical Office Manager

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, business processes for academic departments will be addressed remotely. While most staff are not on campus, we are eager and available to help.

Mission

 

The mission of the Office Technology Unit is to provide students with the technology, communications, and interpersonal skills needed for employability in the business, legal and allied health fields and to prepare students for transfer to a senior college. The Unit offers an administrative Assistant Option, a Medical Office Manager Option, and a Legal Administrative Assistant Option leading to an A.A.S. degree. It also offers Office Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, and Legal Office Assistant certificate programs.


 

Upon completion of either option or the certificate program, students are prepared for employment in the business world and the allied health field. The required internship program provides students with workplace-related experiences. 


Goals

To provide students with computer and telecommunications, document formatting and production skills.

To provide students with critical thinking, teamwork, and written and oral communication skills.

To introduce students to basic office systems, technology, and routine workplace procedures.

To provide students with knowledge of office software applications.
