Alerts & Referrals
Faculty and Staff can take actions in Navigate to respond to student needs by raising Alerts and Referrals. These actions send a notification to the student’s primary advisor, or to the leader of a student support programs such as HALC or Career Services depending on the nature of the referral.
Each alert and referral opens a Case. The recipients of the Case gain access to Case Management tools. Case managers can add the alert/referral raiser to the case, enter case notes and close the case. Adding the raiser to the Case allows the raiser to see case note updates in real time. Each unit receiving cases determines a series of actions to take when an alert/referral is raised and a case is opened.
