All alerts and referrals open Cases. Only staff are initial recipients of Cases. Students do not receive notifications when alerts are raised. Students can receive notifications about referrals that are made. Staff recipients of Alerts or Referrals gain access to Case Management tools and can use those tools to communicate with the alert/referral raiser. This allows the raiser to know more about the progress made towards address the academic concern or referral. Each advising or student support unit has standardized response protocols.
