The Department of Citywide Administrative Services Division of Energy Management (DEM) serves as the hub for energy management for City government operations. We develop the City’s annual Heat, Light, and Power Budget; manage the City’s electricity, natural gas, and steam accounts; help our agency partners identify and pursue energy-saving opportunities at their buildings; do energy efficiency and clean power generation projects across the City’s portfolio, and implement operations and maintenance (O&M) best practices. DEM is currently recruiting for several energy management positions within both our team and at our city agency partners, including open positions in our Energy Supply, Operations, Strategic Planning, and Executive Office Support units.

  • Program Manager, Agency Energy Personnel (AEP) Program (Job ID 503749): The person in this role will support day-to-day operations for DEM’s Agency Energy Personnel Program, through which DEM allocates and manages 60+ energy management staff at a broad variety of agencies across the City. This position is ideal for a person with a strong interest in energy/green workforce development and experience in large-scale program management.
  • Senior Analyst, Strategic Planning (Job ID 503758): The person in this role will work with DEM’s Deputy Commissioner and other staff to provide subject matter expertise in energy policy and legislation. Their responsibilities will include evaluating the implications of local, state, and federal policy developments related to energy and the environment for DEM’s operations, preparing position statements, and fielding external requests. This position is ideal for a person with a strong interest in energy policy and legislation and strong prior experience in policy development or consulting.
