Fast Track Your Career at the MTA New York City Transit

Established more than 35 years ago, the MTA New York City Transit’s Internship Program provides students with meaningful work and mentorship opportunities.

How to apply for the Internship-Mentorship Program at the MTA New York City Transit

The process begins with a visit to your career services coordinator. Schedule an appointment on Succeed@Hostos and include MTA internship application in the appointment message.

Career Services will need the following documents to facilitate the process of adding you to our Internship Online Portal:

  • An updated resume,
  • Unofficial transcript,
  • Course schedule & bursar receipt
  • Valid I-20 documents for international students.

Applicants will receive an email with a user ID and login instructions within 48 hours of receipt of the coordinators submission.

Applicants may apply to up to 12 projects and should relate to the students major or field of study. Additionally, all projects must be submitted at one time.

User ID’s and passwords will remain active for up to 30 days. Applicants should email for reactivations after the 30 day period.

Project managers will reach out to schedule an interview in the first 3-4 weeks. Unfortunately, we can't take everyone who applies. However, your resume remains in our database for review by managers who have unfilled projects and are seeking specific talent.
