Women’s History Month Celebrations

For the College’s opening and closing events to celebrate Women’s History Month, each of these academically talented students wrote and delivered a talk about the impact of women’s studies classes on his/her life and his/her career choices, including in his/her remarks a reading by a woman that illustrates ideas important to his/her growth. Each of the recipients will receive a check for $50.

Prizes were awarded to students in English 1300 and English 1301 for the best essays written about Sor Juana de la Cruz or Wilma Rudolph. Essays were written under supervision. The First Prize recipient in the 2006 Women’s History Month Essay Contest is recognized here:
