CUNY Justice Academy

About the CUNY Justice Academy:
The CUNY Justice Academy (CJA) is a transfer-focused collaboration that links selected associate degree programs at six City University of New York (CUNY) community colleges to baccalaureate degree programs at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Becoming a CUNY Justice Academy Student:
By majoring in Criminal Justice (CRJ), Forensic Science (FOS) or Forensic Financial Analysis (FFA) at one of the participating CUNY Community Colleges, students are automatically part of the CUNY Justice Academy.

Transitioning to John Jay
  • CJA students are guaranteed admission to John Jay provided they meet the minimum entrance requirements:
  1. Graduate with their associate’s degree in the selected majors;
  2. Obtain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for CRJ & FFA, 2.5 in math and science for FOS, or 2.5 if formally dismissed from JJC;
  3. Be skills-certified in Math and English
  • CJA students do not have to fill out an application or pay a committee fee.
  • Graduating students will receive an invitation from the CJA, requesting their confirmation to start in John Jay for the upcoming semester.
  • Once you have confirmed your intentions of enrolling into John Jay, the CJA team will begin evaluating student transcripts.
  • Once courses have been evaluated, students will be contacted to register for their John Jay classes.
