In April 2015, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed Banking Law § 9-w, requiring that all New York institutions of higher education provide financial aid applicants a uniform financial aid award information [shopping] sheet when responding to applications. This sheet was created to help students and parents better understand the costs of education from the type of grants to the loans the student qualifies for. Students can easily compare aid packages offered by different institutions, helping make an informed financial decision on where to invest their education. Although we have done our best to accurately calculate these figures, please remember these are only estimates. Should you choose to attend our institution, your final figures could differ.
After you are accepted, and Hostos Community College has received the results of your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), you will have access to a personalized Shopping Sheet.

The cost of your education, whether it is at CUNY (CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK) Or any other college, includes more than tuition. When we calculate your eligibility for financial aid, we assign you a “Cost of Attendance Budget.” This budget includes cost of books, supplies, transportation, and miscellaneous personal expenses. Below are the estimated nine-month budget for variable costs (in addition to tuition and fees) for students living at home and students living away from home.
