Training & Development

Mandatory Training

All employees are required to complete the five mandatory trainings listed below once a year, every year on Brightspace:

  1. Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP)Training;

  2. Employee Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response (ESPARC)Training;

  3. Gender-Based Violence Training (GBVT)--only if you receive an email notification that you are required to complete—in which case the training would appear on your Brightspace.

  4. Cybersecurity Awareness Training

  5. Title 6 Training (currently for full-time employees only)

In addition to the mandatory training above, all employees are required to complete Ethics Training.  For details and deadlines, please refer to emails from Hostos Labor Relations and/or from COELIG-the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government.

You may access the required trainings on Brightspace except for the Ethics training—for Ethics training, please refer to emails from Hostos Labor Relations and/or COELIG.  In addition, if you are not required to do the GBVT training, it will not appear on Brightspace for you.

All these trainings listed above are intended to reinforce CUNY's commitment to maintaining an atmosphere of mutual respect, civility, accountability and trust on our campus.  In addition, the Cybersecurity Awareness Training serves to mitigate potential security risks such as phishing, spam, and account breaches, along with essential best practices for protecting both personal and university data.
