Andrea Fabrizio Ph.D. 
Interim Vice President and Provost for the Office of Academic Affairs

Dr. Andrea Fabrizio is currently the Interim Vice President and Provost for the Office of Academic Affairs. Prior to this role, she served as a Dean in OAA. She earned her Ph.D. in English from the Graduate Center of The City University of New York and her B.A. in English from Fordham University.  Dr. Fabrizio has been a member of the Hostos community since 2003, when she came to the college as a CUNY WAC Writing Fellow. She has been an adjunct, substitute, and full-time faculty member in the Hostos English Department, chairing the Department for four years. She also served as the WAC Co-Coordinator for fourteen years.
 
Since joining OAA, she has spearheaded several major initiatives such as establishing the Hostos Student Symposium, offering ACUE’s Effective Online Teaching Practices certification for faculty, launching the faculty/coach liaison model, as well as creating certification for faculty teaching First Year Seminar. She is also the PI on our college’s Title V Grant Comunidad y Igualdad: An Integrated First-Year Experience and Beyond that aims to increase student retention and graduation rates.
