CUNY Accommodate

CUNY Accommodate is CUNY’s disability management system. This system integrates students, their accommodations, course schedules, Faculty, and the Accessibility Resource Center into one cohesive platform, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment for all students. Accommodate allows Faculty to easily view, print, and sign (optional) accommodation letters for students in your class each semester. Faculty can also see a list of students with accommodations enrolled in their courses and confirm exam details in coordination with the Hostos Testing Center.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn. By implementing elements of UDL, you make your course more broadly accessible.

Consider following the prompts on the CUNY UDL Principles Checklist into incorporate UDL Principles into your course.

Digital Accessibility

Ensuring digital course content and materials are accessible helps create a more inclusive learning environment for all students. Accessible digital practices—such as using readable documents, captioned media, descriptive links, and properly formatted content—help ensure that students can equally access, engage with, and benefit from online and classroom learning materials.
