Student Activity Fees

In accordance with article 16.2 of the Bylaws of the CUNY Board of Trustees, students who enroll at Hostos Community College are charged a Student Activity Fee. 
 
Student Activity Fees at Hostos are used to organize programs/provide services that include, but are not limited to:
  • Support for the Children’s Center
  • Funding for all certified student clubs/organizations
  • Funding for student focused initiatives/programming organized by campus units
  • Funding for the Commencement (Graduation) ceremony
  • Funding to purchase of diplomas and diploma covers
  • Funding for enrichment workshops/conferences organized by the Student Leadership Academy
  • Funding for student publications and other communication/media initiatives
  • Stipends for Student Government Association (SGA) members
  • Funding for Sports & Recreation related initiatives including sports teams, intramural events and fitness center services
  • Funding for Student Life events including Welcome Week, heritage month celebrations and leadership training
  • Funding for events and initiatives promoted by the Student Government Association (SGA)
  • Funding for events and services provided by units under the Health and Wellness Center

How much are the Student Activity Fees at Hostos?
Full-time students pay a fee of $63.20 and part-time students pay a fee of $29.70.
 
When do students pay this fee?
Students pay the fee on a semester basis.  If you are enrolled for Fall classes, you will pay a Fall fee; the same applies for Spring and Summer.
 
Can student activity fees be refunded?
Fees will be refunded to any student who withdraws from school prior to the first day of classes.
