Join us for a special viewing of the documentary, “Julia VIVE,” honoring Puerto Rico’s national poet, Julia de Burgos. The film combines fictional vignettes with archival footage and academic interviews, and explores her life, activism, and posthumous fame in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and New York. The event will include a Q&A with director Álvaro Calderón Martinez moderated by theater professor Ángel Morales, and a poetry performance by Julissa Bernabe AKA Pō’edik, who is a proud member of the Hostos family through her father, Arnaldo Bernabe, Chief of Public Safety.
