The Community Health Club at Hostos stepped in to help the Path Homeless Family Shelter through a toy drive for homeless children and their families, as more than 80 gifts were collected for boys and girls that were distributed on Christmas Day.

Assistant Professor Elys Vasquez-Iscan, from Hostos’ Health Education Unit and Gerontology Unit, said the students went above and beyond to help those less fortunate.

“The students who are graduating this semester leave with a sense of giving back to the community that they represent. This is very commendable, given the fact that many students worked so hard this year to achieve their academic goals and still found a way to contribute to their community,” Vasquez-Iscan said.
