No matter where you are, May is for Mother’s Day. And as a way to recognize and celebrate some very special women and their families, CUNY in the Heights held a special Día de las Madres event on May 28.

Seny Taveras, Executive Director of CUNY in the Heights, Organized the event along with members of her staff, including Sorangel Saldaña, Executive Assistant/Program Coordinator. Taveras said that the event was a huge success that brought the staff closer with members of the community and informed families about child programs.

“Because we service so many families throught CUNY in the Heights, events like these help us stay better connected with the entire community,” Taveras said.

In what was the second year for this event, four parents who enrolled their children in various CUNY in the Heights children’s programs were honored for their special contributions, and a raffle was held with prizes secured through sponsors and businesses from the local community.
