Hostos Community College’s Career Services Office is constantly looking to improve and expand its resources to better serve both students and the community. Now, the Office has bolstered its services through the power of the Internet with “Career Coach,” a free online tool which allows users to explore potential careers throughout New York City and the nation.

By visiting this new website and utilizing a simple keyword search, users can find employment prospects in various fields with real-time information customized to the College’s geographic region. When searching for specific jobs, the site will also help them build a resume and direct users to the appropriate Hostos’ degree and certificate programs.

Carlos Molina, Vice President for Continuing Education & Workforce Development at Hostos which oversees the Career Services Office, believes the new online tool will have a broad impact.

“Our job does not solely revolve around providing career training; we are also extremely active in helping students achieve their workforce development goals. Career Coach will help us achieve that mission,” Molina said.

The Division of Continuing Education & Workforce Development’s Career Services Office is confident that in addition to helping users secure employment, the online system will improve academic decision making and course selection, as well as heighten students’ commitment to stay in school and earn their degrees.

Lisanette Rosario, the Director of Career Services at Hostos said: “Our goal is to provide prospective and current students with a resource to explore career possibilities and faculty and staff with the tools to support students when they knock at their door asking for career guidance.”
