Dr. Johana Rivera, Dean of Student Development and Enrollment Management, was featured in the June edition of Appreciative Education Newsletter, which is published by Florida Atlantic University. The article details how Hostos adopted the Appreciative Advising model. Following a six-week online course, a group of Hostos staff and administrators attended Florida Atlantic University’s Appreciative Advising Institute for further training. This positive, student-centered model of advisement was selected to maximize student retention rates and academic success. Dr. Rivera joins the faculty of the Appreciative Advising Institute this summer.
