Hostos Community College is proud to announce that its Department of Public Safety was awarded the prestigious Agency Trilogy Award from the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) on Monday, August 25. This distinguished honor recognizes the department’s dedication to law enforcement leadership, demonstrated by the successful completion of the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Series by all members of its Command Staff.
The FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Series is a rigorous, three-week leadership training program comprised of the Supervisory Leadership Institute, the Command Leadership Institute, and the Executive Leadership Institute. Collectively, these courses advance the science and art of public safety leadership, preparing participants to uphold the highest standards of service, integrity and professionalism.
Hostos’ Director of Public Safety, Chief Arnaldo Bernabe praised his staff’s accomplishment, stating: “I am extremely proud of my team for completing the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Series. Their dedication reflects an unwavering professional commitment that embraces the core values of service, integrity and pride. This recognition demonstrates our ongoing pledge to safeguard and serve the Hostos community at the highest level.”

On August 1, Chief Bernabe; Assistant Directors of Public Safety, Lt. Anastasia Koutsidis and Lt. Tamara Bailey; and Sergeants Carlos Gomez and Mayra Pinzon each received the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award for completing the full program. Shortly thereafter, the department itself earned the unique Agency Trilogy Award for ensuring its entire Command Staff achieved this milestone.
Founded in 1991 by a group of FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (LEEDS) graduates and SSA Robert McCarthy, FBI-LEEDA was established to provide continued networking and education for law enforcement leaders. It was incorporated as a nonprofit in Illinois in 1992, later moving to Florida in 1997 and Delaware in 2002. Its name, seal and symbolism were approved at all levels, including the FBI Director. Today, FBI-LEEDA trains and connects public safety professionals nationwide.
