The 2018 Bronx CUNY EdTech Showcase was held at Hostos Community College on April 27.

The annual event promotes and highlights innovative uses of technology that have the potential to improve student engagement and performance. For the three Bronx CUNY colleges (Hostos Community College, Lehman College and Bronx Community College), the Showcase is also an excellent opportunity for the CUNY community to network and share technical information.

This year’s theme, “Igniting Innovation: Literacy, Access and Learning,” highlighted the extraordinary innovations from faculty across CUNY to engage and support students to accomplish their academic goals. The event was the perfect setting for professional development and collaboration, and featured twenty-five concurrent sessions and two keynote presentations. Dr. Amy Gaimaro, Dean of Innovative Delivery Methods at Molloy College, talked about “Digital Innovation as a Key to Student Success,” and Roger Osorio, Executive coach and program leader at IBM closed the day with his presentation titled “Putting Horses Before Carts: Innovation Starts with a Problem.”

The day wrapped with a reception, high-tech prizes and networking to continue fostering conversations and collaborations among colleagues across CUNY. Save the date for the 7th annual Bronx EdTech Showcase at Lehman College, which will be held on May 3rd, 2019.
