On April 22 Metropolitan Food Service Inc. initiated business as the College’s new food vendor and dining services management company. For more than 30 years, Metropolitan Food Service has been serving colleges and universities in and near New York City. Presently, they provide services for The City College of New York, Brooklyn College, Queensborough Community College, and Essex County College.
Metropolitan Food Service Inc. is planning new and exciting things for the dining services program at Hostos. The varied menus included Mexi-Cali Baja Grill, City Slices Authentic NY Pizza, Smooth Oasis Smoothies, and Academia Gourmet Coffee. Over the years, Metropolitan Food Service has catered everything from a coffee service for 10, to a sit-down dinner for 1,500 for the Mayor of New York City.
New digital marketing strategies are being implemented by Metropolitan Food Service Inc. to inform customers about menus, value meals, and special events.
By the Fall Semester of 2014, they will launch a website and smartphone application with all of their menus, locations and hours of operation, as well as a text messaging service where people can order daily specials by phone.
