President Daisy Cocco De Filippis has once again earned a place in the pantheon of Bronx power brokers, having been named by City & State NY one of the
2025 Bronx Power 100. This list is based on the accomplishments of the public officials, business and nonprofit leaders, college presidents and community advocates working to make a difference and have positive impacts on the community. President Cocco De Filippis is ranked at #27 on the list, in which she is joined by powerful public figures, such as members of the U.S. Congress Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ritchie Torres, and Adriano Espaillat, as well as NY Senator José M Serrano, Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, NY Yankees President Randy Levine, and other Bronx luminaries.
President Cocco De Filippis is no stranger to these lists, having been repeatedly recognized for her tireless work promoting socioeconomic mobility through education in the nation’s poorest congressional district. With her “manos a la obra/all hands on deck” motto, she rallies the faculty, staff and students of Hostos Community College to be resilient, mutually supportive and dedicated to student success. She has thus earned the enduring respect of all sectors of the community, and the collaborative support of many other power brokers on this list.
Congratulations once again, President Cocco De Filippis!
