Dr. Yoel Rodríguez, a well-known and much-lauded member of Hostos Community College’s Natural Sciences Department, is the recipient of a $15,000 CUNY Community College Research Grant to be used in studying coronavirus-related issues.

Rodríguez shares the grant with Dr. José A. Fernández Romero of the Borough of Manhattan Community College. They will collaborate with the Department of Pharmacological Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Center for Biomedical Research at Population Council. Two undergraduate students will assist in the research process.

Rodríguez is also one of the authors of a new piece of biochemical research, which appeared in a recent issue of ACS Publications, the journal of the American Chemical Society.
