Adán Vásquez and the Association of Dominican Classical Artists (ADCA) are dedicated to performing, promoting and fostering appreciation for the classical, folkloric and traditional music of the Dominican Republic. Through a series of free orchestral and chamber music concerts, ADCA brings live performances to Upper Manhattan and neighboring communities. This acclaimed group has performed at prestigious venues throughout New York City, such as Carnegie Hall, the Merkin Concert Hall and CAMI Hall NYC. Dr. Paul Austerlitz is the Distinguished Visiting Research Professor at the Dominican Studies Institute of the City University of New York. He is an ethnomusicologist, musician and the author of two books: Merengue: Dominican Music and Dominican Identity and Jazz Consciousness: Music, Race and Humanity. Dr. Austerlitz is a member of the Dominican Academy of Sciences.
