BomPlenazo Continues!
The 11th Biennial BomPlenazo Festival kicked off virtually last year (2020) - celebrating the Afro-Puerto Rican music and dance traditions of bomba and plena. The festival’s closing will take place October 8 to 10 with a series of amazing concerts online. Each day will feature “2020 Highlights” of last year’s concerts followed by “2021 Premieres” of new musical performances recorded live on the stage of the Hostos Center’s Main Theater. The culminating event will be the premiere of the Vente-Tú Celebration recorded this past summer at the famous Casita de Chema. Each concert will feature top bomba and plena practitioners, musicians, and singers – from Puerto Rico, Chicago, and New York City!
