In this "politically incorrect” comedy about murder, mystery, offensive stereotypes and cultural appropriations, a well-meaning but ill-informed director wants to make an all-Latino version of Hamlet that takes place in “El Barrio” (Spanish Harlem). The only problem is that the young director doesn’t know much about Latinos, doesn’t know much about Harlem, and doesn’t know much about Hamlet either! Hamlet in Harlem is a laugh-out-loud, I-can’t-believe-this-is-Shakespeare comedy that addresses important issues of media representation, gender roles, cultural appropriation, and the relevance of classic literature.

“A clever comedy that riffs on the themes of “Hamlet” and adds a generous helping of contemporary wit and social commentary!”
- Opinion8ed2

“Witty, sharp, quick…even profound. It even manages to be heartwarming!”
- Sonia Manzano (Actor, Author, Sesame Street)
