The Jon Lehrer Dance Company (JLDC) has distinguished itself for showcasing innovative dance in a fun, distinctive style that fuses jazz and modern. By combining creativity and athleticism, the company creates truly spectacular works onstage that can be enjoyed by all audiences.

As part of the CUNY Dance Initiative, Jon Lehrer Dance Company will present an electrifying evening that includes world renowned works, NYC premieres, and the World Premiere of a new comedy piece inspired by the zany and outrageous question: “What if Buster Keaton, Quentin Tarantino, and Scooby-Doo created a dance?!” By bringing its signature athleticism, physical humor and innovative movements, the company will bring us an understanding of life and the human condition in a highly entertaining dance style.

“The company took the house not so much by storm as by quantum physics. Jon Lehrer’s strikingly original choreography
transformed the stage into an energy field of super-charged particles.”

- Dance Magazine

"Lehrer and the dancers of his wonderfully game dance company were funny and brilliant at the same time.”
- Chicago Sun-Times

“(Jon Lehrer Dance Company) has built its fan base through the sheer creativity of its work, the incredible athleticism of the dancers and irresistible vibe of a company that has figured out how to strike that elusive balance between art and entertainment.”
- The Buffalo News
