Since his service in Vietnam, Rufus Jefferson has felt lost, PTSD distancing him from those he loves. He keeps secret the trauma behind his less-than-honorable discharge. It’s not until he tells his story and fights the “bad paper” symbolizing his dishonor that he finds his way home.
