Join us for the closing reception and performance of Roots & Rebirth: Women in Dominican Art at the Hostos Art Gallery on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Refreshments will be served, and the evening will feature a special performance by Kaila Bulé & Atabeira Libète. Kaila Bulé is a singer, drummer, and poet from New York, raised in the culture and rhythms of Afro-Caribbean roots. She will perform the music of palos, a Dominican musical tradition that is integral to spirituality and healing.
After nine wonderful weeks, the exhibit is coming to an end. This will be the last opportunity to view the 22 pieces of art and meet the artists, curator, and organizers. Come celebrate this show with us! We look forward to seeing you there!
