Basic Ed & Literacy

The Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development seeks to help adults obtain the necessary skills and/or credentials to transition to college or employment. For men and women who have not completed high school and/or have limited English language skills, we provide students with an opportunity to build basic skills, strengthen their academic foundation, and/or prepare for the high school equivalency exam in an engaging learning environment. We invite you to join the thousands of others who have enjoyed the supportive atmosphere and academic excellence we have to offer.

Course Offerings:
  • High School Equivalency Exam Preparation
  • Basic Education, Math, and English for Speakers of other Languages
Participants must be 18 years of age or older to apply.  We offer morning, afternoon or evening classes. There are both tuition-based and free courses. Registration and placement testing is by appointment only. Program Services may include literacy and language skills assessment, group instruction in English and Spanish, one-on-one and small group tutorials, counseling and support services, college and career planning, and peer mentoring.
