The Human Resources Department aspires to contribute to the realization of Hostos Community College’s stated mission through the proper and careful selection, training, motivation and utilization of its human capital, and, to foster a diverse work environment where employees are valued and appreciated for their individual contributions.

Overview

The goals of the Human Resources Department are to---

  • Contribute to the realization of the College's stated mission through proper and careful selection, training, motivation and utilization of its human resources
  • Ensure fairness and equality in the administration and application of statutes, policies and procedures relating to employment, promotions, compensation and benefits
  • Foster an atmosphere of cooperation among administrators, faculty and staff
  • Provide managers with personnel management, motivational and performance appraisal tools
  • Create a diverse work environment where employees are valued and appreciated for their individual contributions, as well as their integrity and professionalism.

Phased Retirement Program Continuation and new application forms


The University is pleased to announce that the Voluntary Phased Retirement Program for eligible members of the PSC-represented teaching and non-teaching instructional staff will be continued. The applications for Faculty and Professional Staff are online.
 
The revised forms for Faculty and Professional Staff are linked below. Please note the dates for Professional Staff have been revised: (1 year: September 1 – August 31; or 6 months: beginning September 1 or February 1).
 
- Applications for Faculty must be submitted to Human Resources no later than Sunday, Nov. 15,2015 to phase beginning the following academic year.
 
- Applications for Professional Staff must be submitted to Human Resources no later than Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 for those beginning to phase the following Sept. 1 and no later than Sunday, May 1 for those beginning to phase the following February 1.
