On November 21, 2015, ten members of the Hostos SLA and the Hostos SGA helped to plant nearly 200 trees as part of the Million Trees NYC movement at Pelham Bay Park.
 
On December 12, 2015, twelve members of the Hostos SLA participated in the annual Robert F Kennedy Memorial Holiday Party in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, where they helped children make bookmarks and learn the values of Kwanzaa. They handed out books to children in one of the poorest neighborhoods in NYC.
 
On December 18, 2015, twelve members of the Hostos SLA sang holiday songs to senior citizens at the Chinatown Senior Center in downtown Manhattan. This was the seventh year that the Academy has visited the center and, as always, it was a joyous holiday experience.
 
On December 18, 2015, four members of the Hostos SLA delivered holiday gifts to children living and studying at the Icahn House in the South Bronx. The Hostos SLA collected gifts and funds for 21 children living in the local family facility.
 
On January 18, 2016, fifteen members of the Hostos SLA and the Hostos SGA collaborated with New York Cares on a project at the Brooklyn Transition Center in celebration of the Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. National Day of Service. Students from the Academy and the SGA helped to clean up and paint the school, which provides education to students with a diverse set of needs.

Students also worked on making baby blankets for children in hospitals and shelters.
