An organization’s heart and soul resides with its people. The leaders and pioneers who founded Hostos Community College and created its mission 45 years ago certainly understood that people mattered.
The people of Hostos have so much to share and we want to spread the word. To this end, we will issue a “45th Anniversary Profile Book” to highlight 45 individuals from the Hostos community.
Hostos needs your help in selecting these 45 individuals.
Please read below for criteria, nomination instructions, and deadlines.
Who is eligible? Faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
Who can nominate? Faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
Profile book breakdown: 15 faculty & staff, 15 students, and 15 alumni.
We seek individuals that have demonstrated:
Commitment to the Hostos mission
Commitment to excellence
Commitment to outstanding service to the Hostos community
Passion to serve our students and community
Team player attitude
Please consider the vast diversity of Hostos when submitting candidate nominations.
How to Nominate
- Your name and contact information.
- The name of the nominee. Also, please specify if he/she is a faculty or staff member, student, or alumnus and provide the area or department they belong to.
- The reason you are nominating this individual. Please limit your answer to a maximum of 1,000 words.
NOVEMBER 28, 2012 at NOON
The Selection Committee is comprised of a representative from each major division of the College as well as a representative from the Student Government Association. During November the Selection Committee will review the nominations and meet to select the "45." The President will also read each submission.
Notice of selection will be sent via electronic letters to the 45 individuals chosen to be profiled. Those individuals will have one week to either accept or decline their selection.
Once the 45 profiles have been finalized an announcement will be sent to the Hostos community.
What happens if you are not selected for the book?
We still want to hear your stories! We create a great deal of promotional materials, and profiles and stories are always helpful.
