Fundamentals of Dent Removal

Dent RemovalStudents will learn paint less dent removal (PDR) as an economical solution to repairing car surfaces. Most minor indentations can easily be removed without the need of expensive alternatives. Students will learn from a skilled professional the specialized tools needed and the process of the metal-rod technique. Students will gain the confidence to perfecting the metal-rod method through lecture and intensive hands-on training and activities portion of the course. Students will learn how to take various sized depressions out of side panels, hoods, and roofs of vehicles.

Class will begin with an overview of PDR, how the advancements in the automotive industry made this technique possible, and how PDR came about. A briefing of safety instructions and precautions when handling tools and in the workshop will be covered by the instructor. The following two days will be designated to understanding the technique and through patience and practice, mastering the skill. Students will learn how to measure dents, locate its center, and stripping car panels to access dents from behind. Once completed, students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to perform PDR on all types of vehicles.
