HCM Launch @ Hostos!
 On Tuesday, June 23, a small group of people involved with CUNYfirst gathered at Hostos Community College for the official launch of the Human Capital Management (HCM) module. After extensive testing in the weeks leading up to the launch date, the HCM module went live with the click of a mouse button, performed by Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer Allan Dobrin. Other visitors from CUNY Central included Vice Chancellor Gloriana Waters, Associate Vice Chancellor & University CIO Brian Cohen, CUNY Deputy Chief Operating Office and CUNYfirst Leader Ron Spalter, and CUNYfirst Project Director Suma Taneja. Several team members from Oracle attended as well. Hostos joined the Office of Human Resources Management, Queens College, Queensborough Community College and York College in being the first to use the new suite of HR applications.
Executive Vice Chancellor Dobrin praised the team for its efforts towards the launch of the HCM system. Speaking post implementation, HCC’s Deputy Director of Human Resources Shirley Shevach stated, “In terms of post implementation support at our campus, Hostos was able to establish a first Base Team that includes people to support with functional use of CUNYfirst, security issues, training registration, and technology issues. The core link is through our campus help desk, where all calls will be tracked in CRM and answers given so we can populate the Knowledge Base…which will continue to grow so we can build a base of answers we can use to answer similar questions by other system users in the future. The first Base Team structure helps our campus tremendously.” The Hostos team is excited and proud of the success of the HCM module launch, and look forward to successful implementation of future modules.
