The Mission of the Education Department is to advance knowledge centered in research and grounded in practice in the fields of Teacher Education, Community Health Education, Gerontology, and Physical Education to prepare competent, caring, effective practitioners. Embracing a global perspective to address the needs of all learners, the Education Department nurtures students by providing experiential learning and service opportunities to the community; fosters a holistic approach to teaching and learning by helping students develop intellectual, communication, and workplace skills that provide a strong background to further students’ career and education goals; and promotes faculty engagement in research and community service.
